SCO Summit Held Successfully in Qingdao

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), abbreviated as the SCO, is a permanent intergovernmental international organization that was announced in June 15, 2001 in Shanghai, China, in People's Republic of China, Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan in China.


The eighteenth meeting of the heads of State Council of the member states of the Shanghai cooperation organization was held in Qingdao, Shandong province from June 9th to 10, and President Xi Jinping presided over the meeting and attended the related activities.


Since the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2001, after 17 years of cooperation and development, fruitful results have been achieved in economic and trade cooperation and investment. According to statistics, the trade volume between China and its member states was only $12 billion at the beginning of the SCO in 2001, reaching US $93 billion 700 million by 2016. By the end of 2017, the total investment of China and its Member States had exceeded US $84 billion, covering agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure and many other fields.
